I am a Retail Professional with a Degree in Textile Technology ( B.Text ) From VJTI, Mumbai and Masters in Marketing ( MBA) from Symbiosis Institute Of Management, Pune.
I have successfully worked over the last 36 Years , in the entire chain of Fabrics to Apparel to Multi Format Retailing including Department Stores, Hypermarket, Airport Retail , Beauty, Home , Books and Music etc across Marquee Companies like Mafatlal, Johnson & Johnson, Arvind, Bombay Dyeing and Shoppers Stop.
I am a Passionate Retailer who believes that Retail is a combination Of Art, Science and Maths. I strongly believe that People, Product innovation and Consumer centric strategy will drive the new retail to a platform experience .
My aim is to Bring Back Romance To Retail.
Since August 2018 , i am advising a number of Private Equity Companies including Kalari Capital, Multiples , Sauce and 9 River and Start up CEO’s as a Mentor and Advisor.
I am also working as a Independent Director on the Board of V Mart Retail. , IR& H Pvt Ltd & Donear Industries Ltd
I am also on the Board of WeSchool , Symbiosis & SYmbiosis Open University.
I have been a Mentor with the Bombay Chamber of Commerce for the last 3 Years under ‘Shadow The Leader ‘Programme.

Former Customer Care Associate & Managing Director, Shoppers Stop Ltd.
I spearheaded the largest department store chain in India along with Formats of Hypercity, Nuance, Crossword, Timezone, Homestop and Beauty Formats.
I joined Shoppers Stop, as Head of Buying & Merchandising, in April 2001, became the COO in 2004 and was promoted to the position of CEO in April 2006. I became the Managing Director of the Company in 2009. The Company Tripled the number of stores under my leadership. I was part of 3 successful turnarounds during my tenure at Shoppers Stop.
Shoppers Stop increased the number of stores from seven in 2001 to 84 in 2018 and its turnover went up from USD 45.1 million in 2001 to USD 600 million in 2018 with the launch of multiple formats such as Home Stop, Mac, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown. I stepped down as MD in June 2018.
Other Highlights :
I was part of the team responsible for creating the Denim Revolution in India in the ‘90s.
I was also a key member of the Arrow launch team, contributing to making it the No.1 Shirt brand in the Premium Category.
I am a big fan of Pu La Deshpande and P. G. Woodehouse & love listening to old film songs and watching cricket.
I am a well regarded speaker & jury at many National & International Events & Award Functions such as
